Tao Nutrition Recipe - Tropics Nice Cream

Tao Nutrition Recipe - Tropics Nice Cream

IMG_0574

It has been super cold this week (especially if you live in Australia). With crazy rain, clouds, storms, winds and even snow, the last thing you would want to eat would be something cold. Except if you are a smoothie/nice-cream addict like me. The cold weather does not stop my endless creations of delicious, healthy smoothies that taste great. You can use almost any fruit you have and you can use all forms of plant milk, water and different powders.

This month in The Vegan Box you would have received the awesome vanilla nutrition powder this month from Tao Nutrition. Tao Nutrition is a company that makes natural, healthy protein powders. The team is run by two athletes; Bianca Perry and Michael Perry.

I have always liked getting that extra amount of protein in my morning smoothie and have used a wide range of protein powders. I decided to give this one ago. I’m not a person who puts scoops and scoops of protein powder in my smoothies as I don’t like the taste. However, with this smoothie I actually put more than I usually put in and I could barely taste it! If you are one of those people who doesn’t like the taste of protein powder, then this is for you! If you are someone who does like the taste then all you need to do is add more.

After some trial and errors in the kitchen I have come up with two smoothie/nice-cream recipes that taste amazing, require only 3-4 ingredients and are great to freeze and take on the go.

Note: These measurements are what I use for my blender. Feel free to change it around to suit yourself. Especially for the water/plant milk, I change it around depending if I want a smoothie or more of an ice-cream texture.

Breakfast Tropics

1/1.5 cups of frozen raspberries

1/1.5 cups of frozen mangoes

1tsp or 1tbsp of Tao Nutrition Vanilla Powder

Plant milk or water

1. Blend all ingredients in the blender, adding more plant milk or water depending on how you like your smoothies.

Dessert Tropics

1.5/2 cups of frozen raspberries

1/2 frozen banana

3 oreos

1tsp or 1tbsp of Tao Nutrition Vanilla Powder

Plant milk or water

1. Blend the oreos until they are a fine crumb.

2. Add the rest of the ingredients and blend until thick and creamy

You can chop and change the ingredients to suit what you like. Make sure you wear warm clothes so that you don’t get the shivers while eating it! Have fun smoothie making 🙂
